Hi Nicole,

I enjoyed your comments/explanation of the Korean dishes. How did you change form such a picky eater to such an adventureous taster! The pictures are as usual beautiful. The only dish, I think, I would have hesitated would have been the gornish game hen. I like my chicken skin roasted or grilled. That with the large thin radish as a folder sounds so different and yummy. I am glad you had such great culinary cultural experience! - mom

My best Krean meals.
When I was stationed in Seoul, the senior Naval officers of the ROK Naval HQ would occasionally throw a party for the senior officers in our Naval HQ. This was stag of course and since most of the other senior US officers were accompanied in Korea with wives, they would usuallly opt out and I ended up being the senior officer there. It usually would be at a Kaesan (?) or Giesha house. We would sit at a long table with a few little "flowers" betwwn us and the very best bowls of food laid out in front. When our saki glass was empty, the closest lady would fill it and we would present it to one of the man near us. Whe someone saw that I was empty he.in turn, would present one to me. If it appeared that one was on the brink, he wqas effectively closed down. There was a lot of singing, chatter and the widest variety of food tastes you could imagin. What great memories!! Love, Dad
